Care Tips
To look after your painted pot I recommend the following:
- To help keep your pot clean wipe it with a damp cloth that has been soaked in cold water in a tiny bit of washing up liquid.
- Do not use hot water, a scouring pad or abrasive cleaners or you may scratch off the varnish or worst still the paint.
- To help protect your pot and saucer do not allow the pot to stand in water. If you notice water sitting in the saucer after watering (or after too much rain if kept outside), pour it out. Remember varnished and painted surfaces do not stand up to extensive exposure to water. Also like any potted plant too much water in the saucer can cause root rot.
- If a pot is used outdoors it is best to bring it inside during the colder months of the year.
- If you need to turn the pot around at all e.g. to show a different side of the pot, move it by turning the saucer. Do not turn the pot on the saucer as the pot base could scratch or even take off some of the varnish or paint on the saucer (especially with the larger heavier pots).
