How long does it take to paint a pot?

From start to finish, it normally takes between 1 to 2 weeks (depending on the size of the pot).  The reason for this is that each pot and matching saucer is first given 2 coats of base coat, which can take 1 to 2 days to complete as I have to wait for each coat to fully dry before I can start painting.  The design on your pot will determine how long it will take to paint as well as the size.  When I have finished painting your pot I will then give it 2 coats of varnish.  As each coat of varnish takes 24 hours to dry this can take up to 4 days because you can only paint part of the pot and saucer at a time e.g. inside and then outside.  Also it is then best to leave it for a few days to fully harden.

Can I see and purchase your work from anywhere other than ‘The Painted Pot Shop’ website?

The answer to this is yes if you live locally, but normally only once as year when I have a stall at a craft fair at a local school.  This year the craft fair will be on Saturday 28th November 2009 at Grace Dieu Manor School (Thringstone, Leicestershire).
